Blower Fan
While out of town last week. The family got into the car and NO air flow out of the vents. The Blower fan quit working. Â Having no tools to work with, Â I looked for the blower motor under the hood. Not there. Quick Look under the dash. Still couldn’t find it. I Beat on the panels underneath the dash in case the blower was just hung up. No dice. Luckily, we were returning home that day and the temperatures were mild.
After returning home, I researched all over the net and discovered Jeep was having trouble with the resistor module/Blower Power Module. But mine has ATC (automatic temperature control) Makes a difference in the wiring and the part. Turns out this has been a repeat problem for years. Not just this model. Looks like it affects other Dodge & Chryslers also. Best I can tell, 2001 through 2007 Town & Countrys use the same part for the ATC. 4885482AC There may be some variations. My dealer wanted about $77 List. Google it, ebay it, to find the best price.  This was the cheapest site  I found at the time  http://www.mopar-wholesale.com/jeep-parts.html $52.36 plus S&H Just do a search for your vehicle and put in the part number.
As I was testing the module, I grounded the silver heat sink fins on a metal bracket underneath and the blower started working on high. That told me the blower was fine. Haven’t heard any noises from the blower, which if dragging, could cause the module to go bad.
